Tired of plywood, offcuts, and random wood all over your shop? Build this Mobile Wood Storage Cart and get a place for all your lumber! It's 6' long and 28" wide with storage on both sides and four interior shelves (plus an open top shelf). Add vertical wood storage on a small section or an entire side to fit your needs.

It's made from one sheet of 3/4" plywood and 8 2x4's and can be made with just a circular saw, miter saw, a pocket hole jig and set of drills. Add an optional sheet of ply to cover the interior and hold small parts on this wood rack.

You will get a 12 page PDF Plan of Cut Diagrams, Parts Lists, and 3D diagrams with detailed steps to build the project. Measurements are in imperial, not metric.

Lumber Storage Cart

I recently purchased the plans for Brad's Lumber Storage Cart and couldn't be happier! Not only were the plans incredibly detailed and professional, I didn't have to do one stitch of math! That right there is worth its weight in gold! The cut lists were accurate, the plans were easy to follow and the result is FANTASTIC! My day job consists of eliminating waste in production manufacturing processes, so being able to utilize my professional training to improve the visual management and flow of my woodshop has made my efficiency skyrocket! Building this lumber storage cart has decreased my lumber storage footprint from 48 square feet - with boards and offcuts thrown in the corner and in multiple trash cans, to a footprint of 13.25 square feet! Awesome storage unit

It took me a while to get started on building the mobile storage unit, but once I did, the build was quite straightforward. I made a mistake with the angles—cut them on the wrong side—so I lost a wee bit of height after fixing it.

Fitting the shelves wasn’t as easy, and I ended up making a few alterations. Again, no big deal.

Now the cart is loaded with all my cut-offs and sheet materials, and it can be moved (along with my movable mitre saw unit) behind—or in front of—my table saw when I’m done working for the day.

That way, the car fits in overnight and there’s no need to defrost the windows in the morning.

This is one of my favourite builds so far.

Mobile Lumber/Clamp Cart

Plans where great but of course I made some modifications ...Floor is Melamine cause I got it Free @ Home Depot (broken piece) and I made it 32x72 to put on one side my 36 clamps the other side plywood ... It came out great !!!
