Tired of plywood, offcuts, and random wood all over your shop? Build this Mobile Wood Storage Cart and get a place for all your lumber! It's 6' long and 28" wide with storage on both sides and four interior shelves (plus an open top shelf). Add vertical wood storage on a small section or an entire side to fit your needs.
It's made from one sheet of 3/4" plywood and 8 2x4's and can be made with just a circular saw, miter saw, a pocket hole jig and set of drills. Add an optional sheet of ply to cover the interior and hold small parts on this wood rack.
You will get a 12 page PDF Plan of Cut Diagrams, Parts Lists, and 3D diagrams with detailed steps to build the project. Measurements are in imperial, not metric.

I was in dire need of a place to store my cutoffs and sheet material. I liked the design and found the video to be an excellent resource. It went together smoothly, but inserting the 1/4" shelf bottoms was a bit awkward. Also, I found the top shelf to be limited, but liked the input you received from "Tim B." who installed a wider shelf. I recognize he used 2x6 material to get the clearance for his plywood sheets, but it would be great if this idea were incorporated into your design. Good build.

Good plans. No trouble in constructing it from plans. Took about two days. Be sure to use very heavy-duty wheels as you can stack quite a bit of lumber on the cart. Might suggest a six-wheel set up with the two center wheels being swivel wheel like a Home Depot lumber cart so it can turn and pivot in place. I have not put this wheel arrangement on mine yet but plan to it the future as it would make it easier to move.
Great starter for me. I used 2X6's for bottom frame and put 8 250#casters under it. Put vertical 2x4 cage on top shelve and made it 24 inches wide for more storage, that allowed plenty of clearance for 4 foot plywood sheets on sides. I left both sides for plywood storage. Good plans, easily modifiable to suit needs.
I'm an old guy never did any woodwork. This was good for me I had to practice all of the bevels.
